Belvoir Brewery Takes Part in Ricoh Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta

23/06/2016

At around 5am on Sunday 19th June 47 balloons took to the skies over Central London to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal Charity. Amongst them was our Owner and Master Brewer Colin Brown flying the Belvoir Brewery Balloon G-OALE. As many of you will be aware, our brewery is based at Old Dalby, Leicestershire.

Colin commented “It was a fantastic opportunity to support a worthy cause and have a very special chance to fly from and over the centre of London. It takes a lot of pre planning and organisation with the Civil Aviation Authorities, London City Officials and numerous other bodies for such an event to take place.

Thanks to the efforts of Exclusive Ballooning this was all made possible. The breath-taking flight from Burgess Park, Southwalk took us over the Thames between London Bridge and Canary Wharf and then directly over the O2 arena before clearing the city and landing in the Essex countryside.”

The sum of £46,750 was raised from the flight making an overall total of £125,000 raised for charity by the Regatta. #BalloonRegatta

A fantastic effort by all involved and we’ll drink to that…Cheers
